What if we did this for EVERYBODY?

My natural thought was to see if I could describe the exact symptom to the trailer experts, the manufacturer, and see if they recognized the phenomenon and could recommend a solution. Of course, I never received any response to my e-mail. Maybe it got lost. But the more cynical part of me thinks that it is more likely that unsophisticated operations often have the philosophy of "we cant be doing that kind of stuff. If we spent all day helping customers with wiring problems, solving problems for everybody, wed be out of business!"

Can You Handle the TRUTH?

The TRUTH is that there are lot of smart people out there with vision, and it's unlikely that you are the only one who has thought of your brilliant idea, or that you're the only one working on it. Or that you are only one who is now offering it!

When we conceived of AMG Alerts, understandably, "million-dollar idea", "makes too much sense", "billion-dollar idea", "people will go nuts", "zillion-dollar idea", etc. And when we were doing our trademark work, we noticed that there were a few people out there already. But there always are. A good entreprenur's reaction? "They are probably fat and happy and not aware that we are going to pop up and kill them."

Sales Lead Management 101 - The Marketing Shell Game

You are at a beach, and for about as far as you can see, there are shells scattered around. They are mollusks. Some of these mollusks are oysters. Some of them even contain pearls!

Quantum Mechanics in Forecasting

Often when working with a sales or marketing manager in setting up their SalesInSync CRM system we will suggest setting up their Probability (of close) percentages in increments of 10, i.e. 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, etc. Every once in while someone will say, "oh, come on, nobody can guess that close. "

Exceptional Management or Management by Exception?

You might have the greatest networked CRM system in the world but the farther you allow day-to-day sales processes to stray from it, the more ineffective it becomes. In developing SalesInSync, we have had to walk the tightrope between active delivery of information and encouragement for daily login.

George S. Patton - Sales Manager

If a micro-manager gets involved with every breath a salesperson takes rather than keeping an eye on the prize, the definition of "best practices" for a sales organization will be limited to what that manager knows and believes. Not a good thing.

Why "Groundroll"

Come up with a concept, and then think of 100 different suitable domain names for your web presence. 97 of those will be taken already, Of the 97, 91 of them...

Satisfaction Measurement - Test That Model!

How are most satisfaction surveys developed? Often by committee, at some morning event around table with everyone drinking their coffee, putting in their two cents while some poor sap - normally some middle manager that will be "stuck" with the project - lists everything on a whiteboard.

A Compliment

I was training one of my callers on a new program. We are helping to increase attendance for seminar that a consultant is holding. His target is companies that do not have performance management systems in place.
